Does Talent Keep You On The Road To Success?

Written by Coach J on November 5, 2009 – 8:54 PM -

There are people who have more talent than others in any given facet in life. For example, there are those who are talented actors or singers and exceed the abilities of the average performer. In business you see talented managers and executives who are able to lead their associates to reaching new goals. You know talented athletes from grade school, high school, college and the professional level who excel and lead their teams to victory. In every segment of society there are those who have the edge, an advantage that others just don’t have but having this extra special talent or gift is not a guarantee to success.

It is easy for people with special talents to take things for granted because they learn to depend on their special abilities. This can make them over confident and thinking that they don’t have to work as hard as others. This is when talent starts to diminish because those who are hard working start to catch up to those with more talent.  Hard work will always surpass talent if talent does not improve. There are so many examples in sports when you see all the upsets that occur. The winning teams or superstar athletes who lose to the underdogs. Our society cheers for the underdogs because society appreciates hard work, overcoming all odds and winning when it seems impossible.

Yes it is good to be talented but if you get complacent and think talent will keep you successful you will lose your gift. Hard work overcomes all, even when one assumes impenetrable barriers to success. The key is knowing that talent gives you a head start but one needs to always work hard to keep up with everyone else.

For all your needs to stay on that road to success go to Maximum Performance Success Programs and get the advantage used by the world’s highest achievers.

Success In Any Organization Starts And Ends With Teamwork

Written by Coach J on October 15, 2009 – 9:19 AM -

In sports you depend on teamwork to win and in business you depend on your staff and associates to meet goals and objectives. If you ever hope to achieve success you will always need other people to help you get there. The benefits of teamwork can never be underestimated. Teamwork in sports wins championships and teamwork in the workplace is a must and can even save jobs, maybe even yours.

Everyone knows there are always people who just want to do the bare minimum just to slide by and let others take on the brunt of the work. After awhile you notice this even more because you eventually pick up the slack to keep things moving along. In sports, slackers usually get regulated to the bench, traded or released. In business they get warnings, probation or fired. However the consequences can carry a heavy burden since you might have to pick up the slack. The key is to get teammates on the same page with you and the rest of the team early otherwise negative outcomes will occur.

The bigger the organization the harder it will be to build teamwork among all the members. The problem can increase as everyone gets isolated and focused just on their own segment instead of benefiting the whole team. Some quick tips that need to implemented fast is getting a team playbook together that gets everyone committed to the core values of the team to get everyone on the same page. Leadership will also have to take a step forwarded just like a team captain would do in sports.

Eventually the team members who may not have been good contributors to the organization will have to get on board and be accountable for their role otherwise they will no longer be part of the organization. Through proper training, coaching, motivation and accountability you can bring a losing team up from the bottom and get back on the winning road.

Sometimes just being able to go out to lunch with your team members can do wonders for your group. Having a channel to communicate in or out of the organization can have an immediate impact. Teamwork in the workplace, as in sports, will increase your own individual success too.

The Road To Success Always Begins With A Positive Approach

Written by Coach J on October 14, 2009 – 2:07 AM -

The road to success always begins with a positive approach. There is no doubt that coaches who were the most successful in winning always took a positive outlook on all their players. Just like sports, people in life or business respond and act positively to coaches or mentors who reinforce the positives and develop the areas where they can improve.

This is a very important key to success that the sports world has mastered and needs to spread among top executives and corporations. It will separate the great executive leaders and revolutionary global corporations from the mediocre.  The basic principle in business and life, to a certain extent, is to be able to compete and win the game of life or business. You have to be a leader who has the abilities to elevate your team based on their performance and give them the tools for success to develop their weaker areas. Master this and you will increase your success.

The positive approach to winning will bring about amazing results in your life, business or sport. Great executives, like winning coaches, bring about the best in their people simply by believing in them and only putting them in positions where they can succeed. Show your people that you care about them and that you know how to lead them. This approach has been a practice that I have used for many years in coaching and motivating some of the world’s highest achievers because it’s proven to work for world champions and the top CEO’s.

Traveling on this road to success works great with kids too.
