The Untold Power Of The Subconscious Mind

Written by Elliot Cox on May 27, 2009 – 2:05 AM -

Subconscious mind is an essential part of all of us. There are many who even blame their unscrupulous doings on their subconscious minds. However, there are only a few who truly understand the subconscious mind and its amazing powers and abilities. This amazingly potent instrument can become our biggest ally or the most dangerous adversary. Interestingly, your life and your circumstances are all governed by your subconscious mind. Many people still don’t understand the true meaning of the subconscious mind and its significance in our lives.

Though some professionals have tried hard, all of recognize the subconscious mind. It is the mind behind our brain. In other words it’s the main control room behind all our thoughts and activities. It’s your mental make up, the personality you are. You can even call it your conscience which shows you the way out of a tough problem. Your subconscious mind is uniquely yours and you don’t even share it with your twin or your child. It’s as unique as your finger print. No one can ever find a match.

You have heard your inner mind. When you were standing there getting ready to make a life altering decision and it talked you out of it. I would like to think that it talked you out of something that was harmful, often though that inner voice is telling a person that they can’t do something. That they won’t be able to accomplish what it is they want. They aren’t good enough, pretty enough, thin enough. The subconscious is what you think of yourself deep, deep down inside.

If those deep thoughts you have about yourself are negative then chances are better than not that you are not going to have the type of life that you want. The good news is that you can change the way you think about yourself. You can change the way the things that the subconscious mind says to start living the life you really want.

You can change your deepest thoughts by affirmations. These are nothing but positive beliefs that are constantly repeated by you through out the day. These are better than the more expensive sublimal messaging scripts. All you need is to know is the thing you want to change about yourself, choose the appropriate affirmations and repeat them till they become a reality.

For example, you want to lose weight. Instead of thinking you are fat, repeat to yourself that you are your perfect weight. On a piece of paper you can write down the same phrase and carry it in your pocket, you can tap it to the mirror, make a ring tone out of it, and make it a screensaver at work. The point is to repeat the message enough that the subconscious mind picks up on the fact that this is what you think and what it needs to be thinking.

You will soon become your ideal weight as your belief becomes stronger. If you want more money just try affirmations and see money flowing into your life. This method can be used to achieve anything in your life. Maybe you are still skeptical about this.

Your mind affects your life and here is an illustration to prove this fact. Let’s assume that you sleep till late one day and then when you get up, you see the watch and sigh ‘oh it’s going to be one of those tough days’. Accidents start happening, your shower doesn’t work, your coffee spills and messes your best dress and in the office there are more accidents which make you think ‘I was right, today is a tough day’

Skeptics may call it a coincidence but truly speaking coincidences are nothing but misnomers. Every thing that happens to us is attracted to us by out thoughts and subconscious mind which just manifests things which we think about.

Recently movies and books on this subject like the ‘The Secret’ have given it a more scientific backing and made people aware of their subconscious thinking and how it’s shaping their lives up. It actually creates the reality we are living in and that is all in conference with our inner most beliefs.

This has also been confirmed by quantum physics and experiments have proved that even the subatomic particles vibration is connected with the mind set of the observer. Ancient religions have been talking about this for centuries.

Hence if our subconscious mind creates our reality then we can change this reality with practice. People who have manifested their dreams of wealth through history have only been able to achieve it through a rock solid belief and positive visualization.

How To Write Goals That Are Inspiring and Realistic

Written by Ed Perry on May 11, 2009 – 2:32 AM -

No matter what you are striving for, there are two simple tricks to learning how to write goals that you can actually achieve. These tricks will work whether you want to lose the baby weight, walk a 5K, or tone up your flabby arms. These tricks to success are to make your goals attainable and as specific as possible.

The biggest blow to your confidence comes when you realize you have failed to reach a goal you put out great efforts to achieve. This is what happens when you set goals that are not realistically attainable.

For example, losing twenty pounds in three weeks is not a realistic goal. The chances of you actually losing that much weight in such a short time frame are slim to none. Striving for this will do nothing but crush your confidence in the end.

A more confidence boosting goal would be to write down that you are going to lose two inches off your waist before the party. If you take immediate action that can actually happen and you will feel confident in your hard work.

If you want to keep your mind trained on the hope of losing three inches despite this lower goal, there is no harm in that. In fact, it may push you to work harder and increase your chances further of reaching that two inch goal.

If you reach your goal of six pounds you will feel successful, but if you reach the higher mental goal you will feel an extra surge of satisfaction. Either way, you come out a winner.

So, how do you track your progress and measure success in the end? The second trick is to make sure your goals are as specific as possible.

Think back to our earlier example of losing six pounds by the end of the year. A generalized goal may be that you want to look beautiful on New Year’s Eve. There is very little here by which to measure progress.

A more specific goal would be that you want to lose twenty pounds and feel comfortable in your bikini come summertime. That gives you two ways to measure your progress and determine success: trying on the bikini and the number on the scale.

These two tricks to learning how to write goals that result in success depend on your knowing exactly what you actually want. Once you know where you want to go, you can set specific and attainable goals which will ultimately lead to that destination.

Teamwork Among Team Players

Written by Bartt Iccles on April 25, 2009 – 2:27 AM -

Groups exist in any kind of organization. However, groups may not necessarily work as teams. Members of a team depend on each other when it comes to overall performance. The only time that a group becomes a team is when its members start to agree on helping one another to achieve organizational objectives. In these fast-paced times, teamwork has become a requirement in accomplishing organizational success.

It is often said that teamwork makes teams work. Its presence is also one of the factors that distinguish teams from mere groups. But what does teamwork exactly mean? Teamwork is a cooperative action by two or more people (or by a group) in which individuals contribute different skills and abilities, express their interests and opinions, and give their commitment to the achievement of common goals.

Teamwork does not disregard the individual. Instead, it goes beyond individual accomplishments for the team to become effective and efficient. It is said that the most effective teamwork arises when all the individuals in the group harmonize their contributions and start to work towards collective objectives.

Teamwork can only be successful when all the members of the team are team players. Generally, a team player is an individual who places coordinated effort with other members of the team before his or her own personal goals. There are several qualities that define a team player. First is that team players are adaptable. They are highly teachable, emotionally secure, creative, and service minded. Team players are also collaborative. They think win-win, complement others and their distinctive gifts, and take themselves out of the picture.

Team players are also committed. They are communicative as well. They do not isolate themselves from others. They make it easy for teammates to communicate with them. They also do not allow a conflict to go unresolved for 24 hours. They give attention to potentially difficult relationships.

Competency, dependability, and discipline also define a team player. Team players are committed to excellence and they never settle for mediocre. They pay attention to detail and they perform with consistency.

Team players are also enlarging and enthusiastic. They are intentional – they make every action count. They are mission conscious – they know where the team is going and at the same time, they let the leader of the team lead. Team players are prepared, relational and self improving. They are also selfless – there is no “I” in the team. They are solutions-oriented and tenacious. They work with determination and quit only when the job is done, not when they are tired.

Teams must give value to the correlation between teamwork and team players, as one cannot exist without the other.
